To build up broad vocabualary, the best way is reading books, I heard. So, all of you have already read many books. Would you recommend me to read books ?
Hi, Young. Do you have a good time at home? Your question is the same as mine. What a coincidence!! My favorite book is "Kite Runner". It's about Afghanistan. But it is thick one. It's better to start with thin books, such as "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "Tuesdays with Morrie", "The five people you meet in heaven", "Veronika decides to die".
As you know me, i haven't read book a lot, so i can't tell you about books, instead, i will tell you about vocabulary. As far as i know, there are many different ways to learn it, and also, there are many different types of vacabulary. i mean if you want to speak well, as i already told you, you need to concentrate on colloqual words and expressions. if you are interested in tests or difficult books, you need to learn words related to them. i hope you will have both vocabulary. Cheer up!! babie----
Hi, young. In my living roon, there is a bookshelf instead of a TV set. In the bookshelf, there are two types of books which are in Korean and in English. Whenever I visited English speaking countries, I bought a lot of story books and grammar books even their text books. And I ask my children to read books together. To start reading easy books is better to keep up interest. Now i got a present which is the title of 다락방. It's about bible story which has English and Korean translation. It's quite interesting, useful and short. Bye.
Hi, Young. Do you want English books? If so, I am not that helpful. However, reading Korean novels as well as English books is quite helpful to get some imformation when you speak in English. For me, I remember one novel written by Kim Hyeong-gyeong. The title is " A specil criterion to choose love" In this novel, she focuses on the inward of human being. It is kind of psychological novel. You might not like it, I think.
Hi Young, If you like sports, you could try reading 'Playing For Pizza' which is by John Grisham. It's about a football player who moves to Italy and experiences some culture shock.
This is McLuhan. I'm here to watch you doing well in your blogging.
I strongly recommend "Into the world"
Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer is a non-fiction book about the adventures of Christopher McCandless. In April 1992 a young man from a well-to-do family hitchhiked to Alaska and walked alone into the wilderness north of Mt. McKinley. His name was Christopher Johnson McCandless. He had given $25,000 in savings to charity, abandoned his car and most of his possessions, burned all the cash in his wallet, and invented a new life for himself. Four months later, his decomposed body was found by a moose hunter. How McCandless came to die is the unforgettable story of "Into the Wild.
